OK Frontpage- congrats. I hear an atmospheric piece with some warm synths. The beat and melody is catchy. The drums are a little high on the treble but not a big deal to me. The more I listen the more I vibe with it. Interesting, I'm not too familiar with house music. You said roast you but it's hard to say anything bad about this piece. I know the nature of house/techno/ other electronic genres is to lure you in with the repetition. So I'd say you do the genre very well. This is gonna take another listen to give my feedback.
I like how the changes are very subtle, the main beat and melody does not change, but there are textures added here and there that keep it interesting. I really like the synths you used. You're making me have to get really nitpicky here. At 3:15 when the kick drops out I would say to ease the transition place a crash hit or some kind of percussion to emphasize the transition. I would also change up the treble percussion here (sounds like tambourine/bells?). Actually, I would consider a section without percussion, but that's just me. I'm sure if it had the intro/outro you intended, that would also add to the depth of the piece. Production-wise, sounds great, well mixed and mastered.
Honestly, this one was difficult to review, especially because I'm not too familiar with the genre and how house is supposed to sound. But as far as I can tell, you did good here. 5/5

Love the RPG feel this has to it. I believe this is an intro to something bigger, I think you can do a lot with this song, it can go into so many different directions. As it stands I love the simple composition and the instruments. I'd love to collab on this one if that's even an interest of yours, but I can understand if you just want to flesh it out on your own as well. Some pieces "speak to me" musically. This one does just that. I get solid SNES RPG vibes from this one. Not from the instruments, from the composition/arrangement.

Sure, DM me and we can talk more about it.

I like the general idea of the song however that first lead that comes in sounds a little off-time? I'm taking a second listen. Maybe it's just an odd rhythmic structure I'm not used to. Anyways at 00:53 it sounds more tight. Sounds like a couple of loops thrown in there. Gotta listen a third time. From 00:53 to 1:20 is the best part of the song. I think this should have been expanded on in the final section, instead it goes back to the original pattern with the loops added. I also feel the song ends too abruptly, as if it was rendered as a loop rather than a song. Overall I'd say this has potential, I would focus on that section I mentioned because that to me was pretty solid. I feel the drums lack presence in the mix though and can be brought out more. The first lead doesn't sound off-time to me now I just had to listen a few times. Final thoughts: Bring out the drums more in the mix, Fix the ending part (too abrupt), Maybe instead of going back to the original pattern for the last section use the section I mentioned and expand on it with another lead/synth, and lastly I would try not to overuse the loop, maybe just keep it in the one section and use a different loop for the last section. These are just my thoughts, take the best, and leave the rest! I've been doing music a long time and I'm not perfect either, so I try to be as constructive as possible. And your tag....LMFAO haha funny ng has that as a tag. Key Word: Potential. You've got it

Very melancholic and dark. I like the ambience and when the viola/cello? comes in. This piece really hits home, it's highly emotional. The percussion is a nice touch. I've dealt with depression my whole life. I hope you feel better. Production quality is very good, could just use a mastering to get the instruments up to the proper volume. I use AI mastering, dm me if you want to know more about it. Love the track

I love the chillness of this piece. Drum changes are cool. The melodies are real nice and laid back. The bass sounds awesome when it kicks in, I wish this piece was longer. Final thoughts: I love the composition and effects, I feel the the song is too short, The mix is decent but the track is in dire need of mastering/compression, that I can tell just by looking at the waveform, but when I listen I feel that the instruments can be brought out more to maximize the volume. I know you may not have access to/knowledge of mastering so I won't hold that against you. Just something to keep in mind.

Thank you very much for your opinion, I will try to do better in the next song, I will work more on the mastering and I will make it longer: D

I like the mysterious bell synth in the beginning. Then there's a sound of a breath I think and a modulated synth transitioning into a beat. I'm digging this part. The melody and backing synths sound good and give a kind of a dissonant feel. I like the simple beat but I feel it could use a bit more variation. I feel the strongest part of this piece is the bell synth melody. My favorite part is at ~44 seconds to about 2:34 and I think it has what the later parts of the track are lacking, I feel like that last section could have benefitted greatly from the addition of a pad or some backing instrument(s). Overall, mix seems pretty tight, maybe some reverb on the lead would be good. I like the track, but I feel the ending could be improved. It does have a touch of a cinematic feel to it, I feel like it could be in a video game for maybe a cut-scene or dialogue scene in an rpg. I do like the minimalism and the mood of the track. Composition is good, mixing good, I like the overall aesthetic. I would just change the ending and vary the beat a little more. But as it stands, not bad.

MandrakeGuy responds:

nice comment! reading through it you bring up a lot of good things to add to the song, the ending in particular does feel empty, but now i listen to it again i actually kinda prefer it like that, feels like the song is slowly losing its structure and i actually like that. thanks for the comment ill try to put this into use in the future!

Hey I like the string pattern especially. I also like how this has a cinematic type of feel at moments. It has enough changes to keep me interested. I like the laid-back beat as well. Cool song! Always should make a title though...... good composition, though I feel the end is not very climactic, like . Like the parts that start at 1:17 and 3:48 are exactly the same -- the second part should at least be a little different, like maybe you coulda added those strings there or another counter-melody or even another pad. Good start though, has potential.

DJ-Cassell responds:

Thanks! I really appreciate this review. I will keep this stuff in mind as i work on future projects. I definitely could had changed it up a little near the end to keep it interesting.

I love the - Dulcimer?? this track is great. Cool beat too. This is real nice. Really, really nice work.

I like the overall vibe of this track. It's very chill. Not a huge fan of the horns instrument (I think they're horns. But I also think I hear Japanese flute in there, that's nice. Consider yourself scouted. I like the other synths. I'd say this is portal-worthy. Nice composition 4.5/5

Cheers,

-Glenn

Damn son! 3 tempo changes! I love it. Gonna remix as per your request. This is a solid track.
