Beautiful song. I love it, the chorus is so great

Appreciate the kind words :D

Amazing production and I love the guitars and vocals! This is really, really good!

Trackers responds:

Thanks! We think we bring the best out of eachother.

I like the intro, I can hear some panning. The bass tone is warm and suits the track well, the drums I like. I also like the pads. This sounds pretty ambient/chill so far, I’m wondering if it stays that way. I hear a vocal pad which adds a nice touch. Mix sounds fine to me, my only criticism is that the song is too short!! I would have liked it to evolve a little further, and the outro is the same as the intro basically, I would prefer a different outro. But overall nice track!

Structurally, I really like the song. But the guitars in part 1 sound harsh to me. I especially dig part two with the cleaner guitars and the hand drum. That part alone makes the song for me. It still has an indie sound to it, which isn’t bad, but still you record guitars better than I can. I’d say maybe use a filter or other plugin to tame the harsh treble in part 1. Other than that though, cool song!

Cheers,
-G

Not bad for a video game. I kind of like the spooky tone, a little repetitive, but not bad. This reminds me a little of something out of Ninja Gaiden for the NES. I’d say keep making music, you’re on the right track.

Thanks,
!!! the opinions help me a lot to improve :D

Hey you said “difficult listen”??? I f’ing love this. The drum pattern kicks a$$. I am very into intricate electronic music. You should check out The Algorithm. Anyways, this track seems to be drum-focused, and while there’s nothing wrong with that, I was expecting a little more. OK we’re at the midway point, there’s some ambient noises, it’s kinda spooky, I like it. There’s ambient risers, tension increases…..then it slows down, then the last section comes in, back to drum beats. Nice but how about adding some instrumental accompaniments? Just a thought. Pretty cool experimental though. Reminds me a little of the Gross Beat plugin…you use FL studio? Overall: 4/5

Zerisan responds:

Thanks for the review, glad you're into this sorta stuff. Reason for the track being so monotone and dry is mainly album context (also the reason for the cutoff beginning/ending). And yes, I am an FL user (no gross beat used here though).
Many thanks again for taking the time to review this.

There are some strange volume shifts, the main lead isn’t bad but there’s not much going on here. It sounds like a scene from a NES game, not quite a theme but more like a transition point. It’s like a cinematic NES track. Not bad but the technical volume issues brings this to a 3.5 for me.

First thing I noticed was there is a lot of static sound, like clipping. Try lowering the volumes before the rendering. I like the chill lounge vibe of this, it’s sorta melancholic and sweet. The changes are a bit odd I must say, so the transitions could use some work. I like the minimalism of it but feel it could use a bit more, like another instrument. The hi hats do sound off-time. I’d say with a little more work you could be onto something. Melodies are decent. My verdict: 3.5/5. The transitions need work but the piece wasn’t bad.

Ahh some post-rock, one of my favorite genres. The guitars sound good, the vocals, while a little strange to me, aren’t bad. Mix is decent. The harmonies sound decent as well, the main vocalist sings well. Guitar leads are pretty good. Nice jam. I think if this was produced professionally it has radio potential. Definitely has that indie sound. I like the chorus. Not bad. Pretty cool actually. 4.5/5

ConceptSama responds:

I'm glad you like it yeh I gotta get that professional studio quality mastering. Thank you 10 fold.

Definitely fitting for a video game. I find the main backing track a little annoying but then it changes up a bit. The leads are pretty intricate at points, I appreciate that. It seems to go from one very repetitive riff to another. Not sure I really jive with it. But you got 5 5’s. So maybe there’s something I’m missing??? Not my style but production is good and the leads are pretty good. And it suits the genre. So respect, 4/5.

KhaosKitsune617 responds:

I'm trying to not be repetitive, and I acknowledge what I done. I just can't help it because a lot of my favorite songs can be repetitive.
