Very soothing, my only complaint is that it sounds muffled, not sure if that was intentional? I was waiting for everything to become clear. But I enjoyed the piece, very relaxing

NotDamare responds:

Thank you! And to be clear yeah the filter is intentional, we had the idea of this playing on a title screen for a friend's school project game, but once you press start on the title screen the filter would be disabled and become clear. However this is from so long ago I couldn't even find the old project file anymore to upload the unfiltered version haha, just this exported stray mp3. I decided to upload it to NG anyway because I just wanted to get some material uploaded. Thanks again for scouting me and checking out my stuff!

Consider yourself scouted. Good job, nice laid-back tune. Reminds me a bit of Mitsuda's work on Chrono Cross. I love it!

The piano is decent, I've used pianoteq before, it's probably one of the best modeled pianos you can get. Though the beats kind of drown out the piano, at least that's what I hear through my speakers.

Czyszy responds:

I'm loving that plugin. It has a very sharp sound in the low end that cuts through the mix.

This deserves a 5/5. Well-done! I hope to increase my piano skills one day. The piece was very moving and well-played. Not super melancholic though, it sounds more reflective to me and hits some happy points. I like it!

First opinion, if that's the waveform it needs to be more compressed. The music does sound very loud, and the treble from the hits is rather high. That said, I definitely enjoy the composition. I like the choice of synths and the melodies. The beat is good as well, I just think it could use more tlc in the mix and mastering. Right now it's like an assault on my ears. I'm not saying I'm the best mixer out there, far from it, but I think this could be cleaned up but it's got good bones. Are you using studio headphones?

Sounds like it can be in a Playstation 1 game. I like the retro-ness of it. It does get a bit repetitive after awhile though, so maybe a change in the melody could brighten this track up a bit.

Overall I like the vibe and instruments used. Not bad! It would sound good with vocals added I'm sure.

baryiscool responds:

And that is way it's free <3

I enjoyed the Asian vibe of the main melody. Reminds me of an artist I used to listen to. nice transition around 1:50. Overall very catchy and I never got bored. You might want to fix the ending though, and smooth it out as it is kind of abrupt

CupOChino responds:

might that artist be Xomu?

nice track! I like the drop that comes in at about 1 min with the noise gated lead. I like the atmospheric pad as well. Could fit in a game definitely

This is beautiful music of high quality. Sounds very professional but I like the theme and the arrangement. This was inspiring - I need to learn how to compose orchestral pieces now that I have the software. great track!
