One of my favorite songs from the 90's. RIP Robert Miles. This is a nice chill take on the song. I'm not sure if the static I'm hearing is intentional or clipping? But other than that, nice work.

Thanks. There is some intentional vinyl noise. also one of the pads does have an airy note to it. i went with a Lo-Fi kinda vibe with this but there isnt any clipping.
Excellent source pieces. I’ve covered both actually. Two of my favorite tracks by Mitsuda. I like your arrangement as well. I’d even love to collab on this but I’m not sure if I’m going to make my own covers again as I’m not happy with the ones I made. Interesting take on the ruined world theme. I like it! 4.5
Well, i can give you the Midi of it, if you'd like. Hit me up in PM about it. Thanks for comment and score :D
I'm speechless... this floored me. Absolutely stunning piece of music. This humbles me.
That is high praise O_O Thank you. I... I do feel like my song has been a lot more passionate of late; hearing this now I realise just how reticent I've been with using the more screaming tones of my voice.
I had to listen a couple of times.
First listen: I like where this is going, it just never gets there. It is repetitive, which is not always bad but I would say layer some more instruments on with each bar to keep it interesting. Try pads, synth leads, or even acoustic instruments.
Second Listen: I do hear the layering now, but the song lacks a melody, which could really help, unless its ambient you're going for. Also, from 1:09 till the end of the track should be a progression, with added complexity, instead it regresses and we get less complex.
Just my thoughts. Not bad for a skeleton of a song, just needs to be fleshed out.
Thank you for the feedback! I’ll definitely make some tweaks
I wouldn't call this ambient, that genre relies mostly on pads and textures and a little slower tempo and is often relaxing or something you'd listen to in the background. But that said, this sounds like the beginning of something, it sounds somewhat incomplete to me. It sounds almost like an intro and I expect it to build into something more grand afterwards. I do like the melody, but I'm just left like "aaand???" This sounds more like a work in progress than a complete track. How you can change that is by adding more to what you have here. More instruments, maybe some counter-melodies, a change in the beat, etc. Keep at it!

thank you! I want to use this melody for my other projects.
It was just an experiment how fast can I create music.
I'm not really an 8-bit chiptune kinda guy, but I'll rate you on composition, which I'd say is solid. I can see this in a NES game, definitely, Mix does sound like there's a little too much distortion though, or maybe it's a compression/EQ issue, I can't tell. But the melody is great, very catchy!
4.5/5

thank you for the comments! im definitely working on an extended version of this tune, as this one was kinda rushed for a competition. ill be sure to keep the comments in mind, as the mix is definitely very messed up atm ^^'
Very nice wispy intro, love the flute plugin. The arpeggiated strings are kind of muted though. And the full strings come in a little strong. brass seems to be at a decent level. The middle of the song sounds epic. I'm really digging the second half. Compositionally, this is awesome! right up my alley. Reminds me a little of Howard Shore (LOTR). The outro is perfect as well. I'd say if you spent one more hour on the production this would be a 6 out of 5 in my book. But for now we'll stick with 5/5!

I Agree on everything you said, didn't have much time to focus on mixing and fixing mistakes. The cimbalom patch was a muted one which I tried compensating by boosting 5-7khz and taking some mids but I think the main issue is the dynamic range between the cimbalom and everything else, a gain boost'd probably be enough! Thanks for listening :)
Love the lead guitar over the reverbed cleaner guitar. It's quite melancholic but then the rhythm guitar comes in and I feel like I'm back in 1991. I really like the "alt-rock" sound. I'll have to check out the version with vocals. Nice chorus riff. Actually I started playing guitar last night with a friend and this is giving me more incentive to get back into it. You're style and my style of rhythm are kinda similar. I like this a lot! please post the one with vocals! 5/5

Thanks alot man! i really wanted something dark and ominous but with a heavy overtone while maintaining an 'old-school vibe. The lyrics really impact the song alot so i'll probably record some vocals on it soon. I'll PM ya when it's out! And hell yea man! If you ever want to try and collab on something, I'd be down! Just hmu!
I like the intro and the tempo change. The instruments sound good, but maybe the mix is a little muddy. I think a bit more clarity in the mix would help this track a lot, because the composition and arrangement is already solid. The main melody is very catchy and I like the variations. Ending is ok with the fadeout but I feel this song could have used a more grand ending. but other than that, great stuff!
Cheers,

Thanks for the honest review. And, yes, "muddy-ness" seems to be a characteristic of my music style haha. Not a pro by any means. =P Glad you still enjoyed it, though. =J
